Dr. David L. Kaplan, M.D.
Dr. David Kaplan is the research scientist who developed and patented the new exceptionally stable topical formulation of vitamin C for stretch mark prevention during pregnancy. Dr. Kaplan is board certified in both dermatology and internal medicine. He remains both a practicing physician and researcher, having been recognized nationally (Finalist, Second Annual Westwood Resident Recognition Program, Westwood Hawaii Seminar, Maui, Hawaii) as well as internationally (Mohamed Amer Award, Honorable Mention, Zagazig Conference, Cairo, Egypt).
Dr. Kaplan is the recipient of the Francis Pascher Award for Dermatopharmacology through the Dermatology Foundation as a research fellow at Duke University Medical Center under the tutelage of the late Dr. Sheldon Pinnell. Dr. Pinnell was internationally recognized as one of the first scientists to investigate and develop a stabilized topical formulation of vitamin C. After working in Dr. Pinnell’s laboratory, Dr. Kaplan continued his own vitamin C research, ultimately developing the next generation of topical vitamin C formulation with increased stability and proven therapeutic efficacy.
Dr. Kaplan has published extensively in dermatology, has been an ongoing editor for 15 years in a medical journal, continues to lecture on regular basis, and teaches on a monthly basis as a clinical assistant professor at the University of Kansas Medical Center and the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Medicine.
